Reflection on Quarter 1 Work Habits and Academics
I consistently created quality work, for example my final character drawing in my art class. I felt I put a lot of effort into my drawing and was confident in every line on the paper.
A pattern of success that I’ve had this quarter was with my science tests. I was having a hard time with some of the content in the beginning of the unit, but I worked through it and got consistently high scores on all four of my science tests this quarter.
I learn best when I am in a group setting so I can talk through problems with my peers and better understand a concept.
Areas for growth:
I struggled with completing quality assignments in/when I'm in class because I am around my peers and it is hard for me to focus. I usually don't finish classwork and have to do it for homework.
I am having a difficult time turning work in on time because sometimes I forget to do at home, but I usually do my homework, even if I rush to do it the night before it is due.
I keep finding it hard to participate in my classes. I usually don’t raise my hand to answer questions because I don’t want to, but I should start to because it could really help my understanding of a subject.
Specific: I want to be able to get all of my classwork done most of my classes.
Measurable: I want to be able to get 100% of my classwork done in at least ¾ of my classes each day.
Attainable: I can to do this by putting all my focus into the task at hand.
Reasonable: I can also do this by not talking to my peers or physically moving myself away from them in order to get work done.
Time-bound: I will be able to get all of my classwork done in at least ¾ of my classes each day for the rest of the year.
Parent Assistance: My parents can help me achieve this goal by checking how much homework I come home with every day and encouraging me to get as much as I can done in class.
Adviser Assistance: My adviser can help me achieve this goal by checking in with me every so often about how I’m doing in class.
